Longing for that special feeling of love:

I may appear to be happy to all but that’s just a front, I find that whenever I am around people I get really comfortable and they are normally drawn to me. But then I wonder if that’s the case why am I still single and why do I get lonely at times?

I have a great network of friends so there is never a dull moment, but there comes a time when I need that special one to spend time with. Just to take a walk in the park, or go play tennis, or even go biking. That void in my life at time makes me wonder about the bad thing’s I have done in the past. (Not that bad)

I wonder if I had lived in a small town where there are not so many options if I would have just settled for what is there. Does living in the City create a confusion of choice? Does it give you the free way to just give up due to the fact that you know someone will come along very soon? Or at least so you though, until your living in your apartment for 2 years with no one to share the fun with.

O well that’s just how I am feeing or was feeling until I got a text message a friend inviting me to GREAT ADVENTURES this weekend…..so now I am snapped out of that feeling.

Living in a small town myself, I can tell you that the extremely limited options, coupled with my inability to settle/lower my standards really makes this place just as lonely as the big city scenario you describe.

I know I feel the same way sometimes, wishing I had someone to share my fun with, someone to love and be loved by. Keeping yourself busy with hobbies, school, and friends is the perfect distraction from these thoughts. :)

All I can say is that good things come to those who wait.

I lived in a small town for 11 years.. and now I live in the booneys for the past 5..

Trust me.. it doesnt make any difference. You think small town people dont travel to the city? lol

Dont settle!! Wait for the right girl to come along that blows you mind and makes you sooo happy!!

SMALL TOWNS ARE LIMITED

I REPEAT!

SMALL TOWNS ARE LIMITED

(this is why Im moving to Atlanta, and almost all the men I meet were when I was in Chicago)

we all get that moment where we would want to have a special someone...until we're reminded in fact why we are single in the 1st place...
lol

Well... I'd have to go with what Stephie J said "good things come to those who wait" Someone will definitely come along. Go out of town every now and then, who knows who you might meet? Hope you have a great weekend. =)

Everybody has those moments, but they pass, just like yours passed. NEVER settle for less than what you're looking for.

Greetings.

Aww...That's only normal when single for a while to feel that way at times!

Sometimes I have wondered that too about people who live in a small town. There are an abundance of choices here in NYC. But you know what? After dating such not-so-good guy for years (as you have well heard from me!), when that special someone comes along who is different than all the rest, I will hold on to it, not screw things up because I realize how incredibly hard that special someone is to find after the 50++ terrrible recent dates!

It is soo much better to be alone than to be with the wrong person or just someone else so not to be lonely. You know that.
I'm glad your friend's text helped lift your mood...and I hope you had some great adventures this weekend.

All in time, it will come to us... It has nothing to do with your past. Remember that.

Usually the best things happen when you least expect it or are searching for it...be content with what you have and fill your time with things you love and friends. I hope you enjoyed your weekend.

Believe me that she's out there somewhere and you're his prince charming. Don't push yourself so hard because you can't rush a beautiful magical thing :)

Even in a big city options can be slim. Everyone is not for everyone and the others are taken, no-good, or have no goals.

Let me stop it isn't that bad. In time you will meet someone and you won't have to settle.

Glad you snapped out. Go enjoy your friends. Sure enough you'll get that #1 soon, but, a young guy...where's #2, #3, #4 to feel the void until? Diversify first.

Maybe you have though, and just looking for a #1. Not mad at that.
